As the founder and CEO of Armor Express, Matt was instrumental in building out one of the leading body armor companies in the United States. Under his leadership (2005-2022), AE became the primary armor contractor, not only to prestigious local law enforcement agencies including Boston, Seattle, Newark, San Francisco and Nashville Police Departments, but also the federal agencies of DHS, DEA, US Marshals Service, Federal Bureau of Prisons and Capitol Police and military branches of the US Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines. Matt also served as the VP of Sales and Marketing for Second Chance Body Armor (2002-2005), and Board Director for KUIU (2019-2023). He holds a BA in Finance from Michigan State University, as well as certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Office, and Government Contracting.

Ed Kiessel
CFO
Ed is a CPA and CMA with over 30 years of business experience, including 15 years in body armor where he helped build Armor Express (2005-2015), one of the leading companies in the industry. During his tenure with AE, Ed managed all aspects of Finance, IT, and HR. He holds a BA in Accounting from Grand Valley State University with certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Office, and Government Contracting. He also served as Operations Manager / CFO for RJG (2018-2023), a plastic injection technology company, and Controller for Second Chance Body Armor (2001-2005).
Justin Sheehan
Chief Product Officer
Justin is a twelve-year veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALs and member of Development Group, America’s premier hostage rescue unit, (2005-2017). DEVGRU’s core focus is the development of gear and small unit tactics for all special operations, and the execution of missions meeting the 0300 Response Criterion (HR). Justin has combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, and Yemen. As Director of Field Sales for KUIU (2021-2023), he led the “Ultralight Tour” and “Winning the East” initiatives. He holds a BS in Allied Health Sciences from Grand Valley State University.
Greg McManemy
Product Advisor
During his 29-year Law Enforcement career, Greg had leadership roles in Firearms / Tactics Instruction, Pistol and AR platform Armoring, and SWAT Team management (22 years). He is adept in the areas of tactical entries and hostage rescue. He was instrumental in the establishment and management of the Northern Michigan Mutual Aid Task Force.
Sarah Davis
Customer Service Manager
Sarah brings a diverse background managing customer relationships. Having served as a medical device Sales Associate for Zimmer Biomet and as a Product Specialist for Fiat Chrysler Automotive she has excelled in highly technical roles. As a Regional Sales Manager for Carmela Specialty Foods, she managed a high volume of accounts while exceeding customer expectations.
